Indian Summers


The new & long-awaited Channel 4 drama, Indian Summers, starts this coming Sunday.  It will run as a ten part series, and will be made available on demand (via 4OD)

Set in the India of the 1930’s, this high budget drama stars Julie Waters, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, & Jemima West.  It is set in 1932, where the Channel 4 site says, “India dreams of independence,  but the British are clinging to power”. The episodes are around 100 minutes in length, and the hype for the first one says,

Ralph Whelan and the rest of the Indian Civil Service begin the annual move to Simla where the doyenne of British society Cynthia Coffin prepares the exclusive white British Club for the summer season”
